Title: front end bounces
Post by: Dr Psyko on July 07, 2010, 12:19:54 PM
I posted this request to the KTM section, but dawns on me this may be a more generalized issue. My nephew's 2009 KTM 525 front fork "bounces" when you go down the road. Just kind of osscilates up and down in about a 2-4 inch range. Basicaly, anything more then 20 miles an hour, and off you go. Damping too soft? No clue...

Thanks All!

Is the front tire horribly unbalanced?

With the front lifted off the ground, does the same part of the rim end up at the bottom?

Standing still, when you jump on the pegs, what happens up front?

I don't think it is the tire. Still the factory Michelin "6 Day" tire with about 1500 miles. The damping and does seem very light though. I'm about 190, and when I sit on the bike it sags almost 3 inches. Interesting though, the rear preload (spring) seems to be almost at full compression.
