Since I'm bikeless in Fargo, I decided to go to Triumph and sit on the new Tigers.... The 800 and 1200.
Ended up taking them both for a spin. Both were excellent but thought the 800 was the BOMB. Ergonomics were great, handled sweet, power delivery was smooth, best of all, it had a funky sounding motor.
I could see me selling the Trophy and Transalp and consolidating into the Tiger...... Hmmmm..... The hormones are raging
Wacked
For next spring the Tiger 800 XC is on my short list. I will not go the 1200 route d/t the lack of spoke rims. Also on the list is the Super Tenere.
Rode a super tenere last week, the traction control is awesome!!! it seems like a great bike but ver street biased. if you can't go 15mph it iswn't going to worlk very well IMO.
I took the Tenere for an extended ride and some gravel (not dirt) and found it quite stable. That was with stock tires even. I like the idea of the dealer being down the street. I think the Tiger 800 would be a better off roader.
