Hey All!

Got a new handlebar mount for my point 'n shoot digital cam the other day and here are some of the first vids I got from it last Saturday (3/21) on a loop of Victoria Lake Road. Not real happy with the video quality once uploaded to YouTube.  :P  The vid quality on the original files is much better. I'm gonna have to mess with my encoder settings to see if I can't get the vids to look better in YouTube HQ mode. I really thought that with the cam on the bars, it would vibrate a lot more, so I'm happy with that...seems relatively smooth compared to some I've seen on the web. The audio kinda sucks, though.

I'd been looking at getting a helmet cam (and still might), but this was a cheap alternative and seems to work pretty well. At the least, it'll work well enough to document some of our DDSR rides.  ;D

This is one of my favorite high-speed fire roads, nothing too challenging, but since I'm just starting to get back in the swing of things this year, AND learning to shift/brake with my new boots (SG-10s), I thought it best to stay off the rocks.  ;D  Quite a bit of mud still, and even some ice, which was astonishing, considering it was in the mid-70s all weekend.

Shot with a Pentax Optio W60 on a RAM handlebar mount, 4 parts:

Enjoy while we're all covered in snow the next two days!

Great job, Yeti!!!

Actually, I didn't think the videos were bad at all, handle-bar mounted and such. I have seen some that are much worse. I think it was a good job. Throw in a little mic and narrate along the trip and it will be Aces!!! Also, don't forget to get off occasionally and get in the picture yourself, kind of personalizes the trip for the rest of us.

Glad to see someone got out last Saturday. I did some chores around the house and then some work on the bike before calling it a day.

Again,nice film job!

Very cool. I have just watched one so far, and it gives a much greater impression of speed than most helmet-cam videos I have seen. You can hear the engine note running up and down beneath the ambient noise as you accelerate and decelerate, which adds to the feeling that you are pushing a bit instead of just tootling along the road. The video does flatten the road out some, but not so much it seems as other vids.

Great vids, now I need to break out some maps and see where you were riding. Thanks for sharing.
Every day is a good day to ride, just some are better than others.
