Post by: greatbuffalo on January 03, 2018, 08:25:28 AM
Coverage of Dakar 2018 starts 1/7/18 on NBCSN . Time vary it looks like. 7th at 4:30, 8th at 10 pm and the 9th at 4 pm.

So Pay attention to times.

Also you can follow Lyndon Poskitt on Daily vlogs on the Adventure Spec Youtube channel as he tries to win the the Malle Moto division. He took second last year in the most difficult class in the whole Dakar.

I may have been wrong about the channel for Lyndon Poskitt's daily vlog.

It appears it is at his channel; Lyndon Poskitt Racing.

Toby Price I think is the favorite to win.

I would like to see Joan Bereda do well this year. He has had back luck, mostly through no fault of his own.

No Africa Twins. The rally is now limited to 450 cc these days. Long gone are the days of the big bikes.

Rooting for Brabec as well, since he's an American and all.  I also think he has a chance to do well as long as he keeps his head on straight.

This video shows how brutal and unpredictable the Dakar can be.

Bad news for KTM at the end of stage 4. could this year be the end of their 16 (?) year winning streak? or.....

Wasn't a good day for KTM, going from 4+ minute lead to 5:23 back.

But there's still a blue KTM in 2nd place.  ;D

12th cancelled and 2 stages left. Kinda looking like KTM will win another Dakar. Honda must be cursed or something.

I suppose the impossible could happen, Walkner and Price both crash out.

#100 is a BA dude. Cool look at the dakar much more the malle class.
The most recent episode he walked over to the KTM truck, called it the supermarket and had an account by race number. 500 euro later had a chain sproket and brake lever plus some brake cleaner and hardware. Awesome stuff.
