:)  Not a tool you need that often... but can really save a headache, when you do need it. My dad had it in his shop, I bought one after leaving home.

It's a thread file, 8 different thread pitches on each flat side. Used to repair threads on a bolt when you can't get at it with a die.

I actually used this when I pulled the engine on the WRR. One of the engine cradle bolts was smashed (hit a big rock I guess) and I didn't want to wreck it by backing off the nut with an air wrench, so just filed the threads until the nut would back off by hand.

Huh.........I'd just use a hammer to fix the threads.
