If anyone read about the M/C show they know my intention is to be done plumbing. I like to buy old/dead bikes and fix/sell them....sometimes keep them ;)

I'm always looking for unloved bikes, inventory/parts etc...

What have you got?

Thanks,

Mike

Lee Bruns

I have a fark-load of XS11 and XJ11 yamaha parts. I want to sell the whole pile, running XS11 and all parts for 500 dollars. I want to move my sidecar over to a 1100 Suzuki that I know about and need to move the Yamaha stuff to make room.

plumber mike

That could be cool. Got a pic? Year? Miles? Watertown right?

Lee Bruns

yes watertown. I'm wanting to move the whole works, multiple parts engines, running bike, shelves of parts, rubbermade tubs of parts, everything. Best to jsut come to watertown and look it all over. Nice day ride on the motorcycle to look at it all, then if it meets with approval, come back with truck. If I have to spend a bunch of time photographing, inventory-ing, and generally dorking around with it all piece by piece I'll do the same work and put it on ebay, piece by piece and end up with 1000 to 1500 dollars for it. The 500 dollar number is me saying I don't want to spend any more time on it.
(Note, thats not a cranky voice tone at all, please don't read it in a cranky tone, just a really busy guy with no spare time to invest in selling this stuff).
Are you on this half of the state? Nice time of year to come over and poke at it all. Heck, the running bike is still hooked to my sidecar, its a daily driver still.

plumber mike

Lee- I totally understand. I'm in Lead so a little distance. I wasn't looking for an itemized anything, just a year/model to google and get an idea. I told a friend about it. He wants it. I just need to talk him into going to get it ;D For that price, I'd just show up with a truck.

One last Q- Does it have any mods that would prevent it from bieng brought back to stock? Frame mods type of thing, steering head angle changes, or is the hack all bolted on?

Lee Bruns

Hack is bolted on. I'm running a standard tank since it is bigger. And standard trees with the special forks. It decreases trail for better sidecar handling. Easy enough to put the special trees back on.
Third gear is bad in the engine that is in the bike. Several spare tranny gear racks though if you want to put good ones in. MOre time in fixing that than I have to invest though.
I tried selling stuff off at the XS11 site, but stopped when they demanded videos of the bike running before they'd buy the carbs off of it. It was an odd forum, intead of just the usual, "Do you have the part, and how much money do you want for it" their perspective is that everyone is a crook, out to get them, and its my job as a seller to convince them that I'm not out to rip them off. Too much work. BAH!
the runner is a '81 XS11 Special, minus sidecovers since I didn't need them. Spare parts includes, 5 gallon pail of brake calipers, multiple sets of trees, brain boxes, wiring harnesses, a couple of spare engines, headlight assemblies, fenders, wheels,  . ..tryign to think off hand what else is there. It'll fill a pick up truck bed, bike and all parts.

Ever seen Sport Wheels outside of the cities (Jordan)? Massive motorcycle graveyard (and ER). The owner likes to collect CBXs and I got a chance to see some of them once. He bought several older businesses around town, and behind the defunct facades lie hundreds of CBX. He took me into one of these, a closed gas station, and carefully arranged were about 50 CBX in various states of grace, perfect to baskets. Pretty cool.

Anyways, not sure if you'd be interested in any of those bikes, but I'll keep an eye out...Found this in a shed last year -- part of an estate -- for $350 bucks, in the process of gathering parts right now.  Carbs are missing in photo, but they came with the bike, apart and in an ice-cream bucket   :-[:

Dang- All the deals are north....so are the jobs ::)

That Yamaha 400 has cafe written all over it!
Did I ever tell you: " I HATE MUD!" ?

Scoobynut

I'm not gonna get too cafe with it -- probably just do lower Euro style bars and bar end mirrors and call it good.  If it weren't so original, I'd probably get a little crazier with it.  Anyways, sorry about the thread hijack, plumber mike!

I am willing. Where is it and when would you like it gone?

Thanks,
