I'd try the trail in the first pic in a second.  The one in the second.. not so much.

The part about trails like that, that I try to keep myself from thinking about, is that even if you decide you've had enough you have to ride it out.  Either you ride back out the same track that just kicked your behind or you keep moving forward and hope for the best. 
Like the title suggests....pictures seldom do justice to the terrain but all the areas mentioned would be fun to see in person.
