I haven't heard of these. Must be a knock off of the go anywhere KLR.....
I think based on a Yamaha, front drive is hydralic?
Ive seen the kits for KTM's, they are pretty cool. I think one of the last man standing winners used one a few years ago. more info here: http://www.christini.com/
I rode a Christini Hydro drive and a shaft drive model. The hydro one was a Yamaha and the shaft drive one was a Honda. Talk about rock crawlers. Christini and yamaha entered one of the first hdro units in the Dakar a number of years ago and did very well in the initial stages but ended up retiring due to mechanical failure. The shaft drive comes off the output shaft with a chain that goes up to the top tube. that drives a shaft in the tube and series of CVJs sends power down the fork and to an angle drive to the axle. A very busy setup. I think the hdro is the way to go. That aluminum piece on the side is the cover for the chain drive to the top tube.
A great idea.
I was talking to a rider that was telling me about his friend from WI with KTM Christini (cant remember if it was during the September ride or over at the North Shore Shindig).
Sweet!
