Title: Any plans for Moab
Post by: greatbuffalo on January 09, 2017, 07:01:22 AM
Was thinking that the ski plans never materialized so wondering if anyone has given any thoughts on heading to Moab this spring.

If anyone has any other ideas for dates etc, please post them up ASAP.

I'll probably rent a unit by the middle of this week and will post details.   If its looking like the group could grow, I'd probably rent something in rim village south of Moab as there are a lot of units there.    I liked north of town slightly better from a location standpoint, but there aren't near as many units to choose from.

Moab springs ranch (to the north) and rim village (to the south) is where I have been.

April 8-16 is the Easter Jeep Safari week, so that's a "must avoid" week.

Is March too early?   Hank give me a call whenever.

March will be highs in the 60s and lows in the low 30s, although when I was there in March 3 years ago it was in the 20s in the mornings.

April will be lows in the 40s and highs in the 70s.

I know I haven't ridden with any of you except Fletch but I may be interested.  I would probably ride there and back and make a longer solo trip out of it.  I ride a 500xc

You'd be more than welcome.
Once I have what seems like 3-4 guys that want to go and like the dates, I'll book something.

Right now I think I have 2 (Jay and Lance) IN, and a few on the fence (Cadet, Ryan, Duffer).

I will rent one place once it looks fairly solid, then if more want to come, once the first condo reaches reasonable capacity, someone else will have to  get a 2nd and so on.
