Title: About to tackle a clutch disc install...
Post by: locopny on March 19, 2017, 01:48:22 AM
Is there anything 'special' I should be aware of?  I've never done one on any motorcycle I've owned...so I'm in virgin territory.
87 Honda XL600R....also have a new clutch cable to install.

I do have a manual, just looking for advice....(maybe not the advice that says take it to the shop and let them do it).

Thanks.    Getting warmer and I'm more motivated now that I got my truck together.

Soak the plates in oil before installing them.  Other than that, pretty simple.

Check basket for wear while you are there.

Back is feeling better enough to finish putting the bike together.  Now that the rally is basically over.  Have you met my nemesis...Murphy?  Everything seems to go according to his rules.
