Planning a ride for next week in the Deerfield lake area. This area is new to me, and i am checking to see if anyone has been riding in that area? Are there any areas that I should avoid with the rain we have been getting? ( how deep is the mud?)
We will be riding Tue- Thursday if anyone is riding the area next week give me a shout.

Hello Gents!
2 or 3 of us Nebraska folk are planning a ride/camp out in the Deer lake area.  I would like to pick your brains for some suggestions on riding and camping in the area.
We are not looking for technical single track, one of us is riding a KLR650. Any suggestions would be appreciated and Ideas are always welcome.
I have been riding my whole life but have just been getting back into the dirt bike/ dual sport riding for the last several years. I just aquired a older DRZ400 last year and really like it for street legal all around off roading. I have done some riding in the black hills so I am some what familiar with the area.
Thanks in advance for any info or good tracks you may be willing to share.!
Ride on the season is upon us!!!!

General Discussion / Another fun option, Meg Braap
Last post by Harry Potter - May 22, 2023, 10:10:32 PM
Two weeks ago Meg Braap posted her 2023 Clinic Tour on YouTube. Regretfully the closest she is coming our way is Helena, Montana. Friday, June 30th the clinic is a women's only Enduro class. A great clinic for your wife, daughter, or girl friend who could easy exceed their testosterone burdened male after the class. Saturday, July 1st she has a mixed  Enduro 1 clinic and on Sunday a Enduro 2.0 at a nearby ski resort. Enduro 1 is kind of for folks who want to start doing logs and other Enduro basics. I'll let you know more on Enduro 2.0 after July 2nd.
Meg's videos prove she can not only do, but teach. I've seen her out ride the famed Barry Morris from Australia who is twice her height. She does all the teaching when they are working as a dual. A day (or two) in a Meg Braap Clinic could easily be your best day of 2023.

Understand, my main reason for attending dirt bike clinics is to become a better and safer dual sport rider and staring at Meg doesn't hurt either.

I'm surprised there haven't been any questions posted, on the other hand it may make more since to just give Ross a call. I've been told just a couple spots are still open. Again an Enduro bike (probably 1/2 the riders) is ok for the class but a trials bike is like cheating.

General Discussion / Ryan Young School Black Hills ...

This will be the third summer in a row Ryan Young will be instructing a Trials-Enduro school in the Black Hills. If you don't know who Ryan is, check out ryanyoungtrialsschools.com
Last summer it was 95% repeat students from the prior summer. Again Roscos in Rapid City is sponsoring the event. These classes prove you don't know what you don't know. Correcting bad habits or just getting started on the right ones is a game changer. Having an opportunity to have a World Class Instructor like Ryan come to the Black Hills is an opportunity you should not miss. Call Ross before it fills up.

Wacked, I was thinking about a similar route as you stated. The Burr Trail is on my list as well.

They have seen more snow in some areas that very rarely see more than a inch or two all winter.

I'll just keep heading south till the snow line stops and the sun shines.
