The result of my back flip last fall. It stopped leaking, thought I was in in the clear. Rode it a coupe weeks ago, and it looked good. Put it on the lift today to switch out front brake pads and saw more fork fluid. Tore it all down and looksy what I found. Just my luck to back flip on the only pointy rock in the black hills!

Curious if the repair cost more than a clutch on bmw 1200gs?

Ouch!  I knew something was up when I saw oil literally pouring out.

Maybe time for some KYB air forks!!

I don't know if there are any good choices here... buy a new tube for $$ or buy forks on eBay and swap your shim stacks (assuming you  want to keep the SuperPlush valving)

Might be less hassle to just buy a new 1190, Rob.

Start a poll.   I vote  1190

The clutch repair on a r1200gs is two thousand more.

If SuperPlush can fix it for $600, no point in messing around on eBay. I thought it would be more $ than that. Still sucks though, what are the odds of the tube landing dead center on a rock.

greatbuffalo

That completely sucks. I guess it comes with the territory of how and where we ride. I've been very lucky so far.
