I googled and googled. New and old. The old one looks funny. Trying to figure out what caused the disfigurement on the sparky thingy. It came out of my 530 tonight.

Someone will know, probably Hank, but I think the answer is in this article.  Pre-Ignition I think.

I have always passed this off as electrolysis in action. The longer a center electrode is to the charge the metal will break down over time. Some seem to resist this better than others. I may not even know what I'm taking about here though.

Are they the same heat range? The used one looks like a lot hotter plug to me.
THE OLDER I GET, THE FASTER I WAS.

Are they the identical plug?  Iridium plugs have a very small electrode versus a standard plug

Ryan wins the prize! Clean glasses, better internet at the office and a stop at the auto parts store. It is an Iridium spark plug. All is well.

Thanks!

Are you running diesel fuel in the 530? The plug will burn cleaner if you use gasoline.

I haven't had that problem since I graduated from 80cc bikes.   ;)
