There is a lot of history and photos on here.  I just took a scroll thru memory lane...

You live more in five minutes on a bike like this going flat out than some people live in a lifetime - Burt Munro

For those living in the Black Hills area, maybe you see each other enough that the forum isn't really needed and or maybe you just get bored with riding. For us outsiders, its really nice though. Facebook is so bad it had to change its name, so I'm not there. The rallies have been loads of fun even with last Fall's small turn out. Bikes are dying as they take skill and quads have taken over. Wonder how long that will last?

Brian (Flex) and I discussed, and it doesn't sound like he wants to take it over either with the very limited traffic we're seeing here.   The FB group is getting more members weekly, so I guess that's the future.

I did renew the hosting for 12 more months because we had $270 in the hosting account.   We're now down to $119.

Shutdown date as of now is 8/9/25.

Thanks, I'm going to miss this place. I still personally believe it's a better format than facebook but I'm obviously in the minority.  The lights are always on here but no one is home.

If your teenage daughter committed suicide because of Facebook-Meta, you would certainly have more than just a negative attitude about Facebook. Facebook is like young people with Covid, they didn't care about how many people they killed. School systems in Canada and the USA alone have billions and billions of dollars in law suits against Facebook. Facebook is like saying "Putin is an alright guy." Maybe its because most people haven't studied or even care  about it's origins. As a psychology and computer science major at Harvard, FUberg saw how he could manipulate people. Fellow classmates had lawsuits against him from day one. Well, as long as following the crowd makes you cool, it will be here until the next cooler thing comes.

Well I'm sorry to see this and many other good forums go, "Perpetual Change," as sung by Yes.

I don't think any of the regulars or long timers here are happy to see the migration to Facebook.
ADVrider is the last stronghold in terms of motorcycle forums, the way it looks.

I really have no interest in FB as a forum platform.  It flat sucks for that, but that's where everyone goes.
