I think I just wore the 'new' off of my bike

  I lost my spring on my sidestand just before entering the water going to camp 5 last week.  A guy on an atv gave me a bungee to hold it up.  I have been using my center stand since.  tue nite it rained and my bike tipped over -dang. It broke off the right side mirror. Duct tape wont fix it.  Sux to see your bike laying on its side, knowng it laid like that ALL NITE LONG!  felt wierd not to have that mirror there - I liked it.  Am thinking about taking the left side off now.  It feels flatter - that's the only word I can come up with in this alchol induced state.  makes the handle bars look narrow to.  If I go with aftermarket bars, do I gotta get new cabls too?

not likely.  as long as your cables aren't very short as is, and as long as you aren't getting really tall bar risers, new bars shouldn't have much affect on your cable length.
