License for new old bike

Dad and I picked up a 72 Yamaha Dt360 no title but one family farm bike.
Easy enough to get a registration plate for hills riding in SD?
Like to do this legal or legal-ish. Not concerned about it being stolen or anything

I've done this in ND, but it's been a few years. Should be easy for you:

Last time I registered a 2000ish DRZ400 from Iowa - no problem. I had to have a local shop sign off on it.

So you've done in ND? I'd try it here but assumed easier in SD. Will look into this thanks

I don't think ND is any more difficult than SD. You hear about SD because ND isn't open to non-residents.

I've done it with a few bikes; back in the day the VIN inspection had to be scheduled with a Trooper (thankfully that isn't a requirement anymore). I should add that the DRZ was an E; so not street legal from the factory. As long as you get your paperwork in line it's a slam dunk.
