Does DDSR get any special rates at FNF?

:-\
Time heals all wounds. But it usually leaves a pretty big scar.

We do get a deal from FNF.  Yeti usually takes care of working out the details and he posts them once they are finalized.

Last year they even had a banner made to welcome us.  They take good care of us there.

Hi to everyone, getting ready for this years spring fling. Gonna leave the big GS at home this year and trailer newer KLX 250, I know trailering isn't right but it's to far for it. But I'll be ready for camp 5 and other tear shit up places.

excess

I live within walking distance of fnf now so I have no excuse not to make it.
Looking forward to riding with you all again

I hope to make the rally myself, but will be just be getting back from a 2500 mi. ride the week before, so we'll see.  Will steal back my WR250R from my kid this year if I'm able to make it.  As far as Camp 5 and the other 'tear shit up' places, I'll be back at the cabin with a tasty beer in my hand waiting to see what kind of shit you tore up.   :-[

Good to hear you're back in business, Joni.

Hi Joni, yeah, I guess I kind of 'checked out' there for a while.  Been so damned busy with work and responsibilities and other such sh*t...

And yeah, since you were kind enough to ask, am doing pretty well.

Am heading to Arkansas to the Concours Owners Group rally with a buddy who owns a Concours.  Guess I'll being crashin' the party with the Super Ten, but oh well...

Will do whatever I can to make the rally, have pretty much already committed to going with Just Jeff, you might remember him on the gray GS BMW from last year's spring rally...

I was at the International Motorcycle Show this weekend in Minneapolis and bumped into Dr Psycho and his son Jake.  We must run on the same schedule because I ran into him last year as well.  It made me think a little more about my plans for this year's Spring rally.
It sounds like I'll be coming out with a couple of the same chaps from the cities that came out last year.  There may be one more stray as well.
I really liked the singletrack that we rode last year and would like to do more of it again, now that I have a better idea of where it's found.  I know that we'll be trailering out if this is our plan. This would also mean some additional trailering to get to the singletrack in the South as to not burn out our tires, or our engines, on the pavement.
I'm sort of ashamed about the fact that it wouldn't be quite the same dual sport adventure that brought me out to The Hills three or four years ago but I'm sure it will still be fun.  Please don't mock me.
We'll see how things pan out.

I had plans to go to the show this year, but all three of my possible co-pilots had to bail on me, so I missed it :(
How was it?

Don't feel bad, its entirely possible I'll trailer out this year too....

Dr Psyko

Great minds think alike Osnabrock! I think the guzzi v7 racer was my favorite. Really excited about the several "street tracker" style bikes I saw though. Would make a great "day to day" bike! The Guzzi was the bike I could buy...

There were the 4 jap bikes, zero, harley, ducati had only about 5 bikes, victory some dealers had some BMW's (I like the G650gs Sertao), a few hasqvarnas, guzzys, and ural's, some korean bikes and chinese stuff(not getting much love).  1 ktm at the whole show.  I was hoping to buy some MX boots but there weren't any there.  Not many booths at all.  Good company and good people.  Everyone there likes bikes.  I saw an old Yamaha DT1 that I've always wanted to own.
I couldn't get a ride there either so I walked.
I like the Moto Guzzi Stevio.  I like the hasqvarna TE450.  I like the Zero dirt bikes.  I like the v-strom.  I like the sport bikes, I like the touring bikes.  I like the cruisers.  I like the MX bikes,  I like the sidecars.  I like the adventure bikes.  I like the stanards.  Hay, what happened to the SV650?
I'm usually wrong

The show was better than last year, in my opinion.  It was nice to see a few "exotics" there like Beta and the Gas Gas trials bike.  I also liked seeing Quinn Cody's Baja bike at the Honda area, that thing was way cool.
I also liked some of the Triumph bikes like the Scrambler, the mid-sized Tiger, and loved the Sprint.
I got to sit on a few bikes that I haven't had the chance to check out yet.  I was sad that KTM wasn't there, but they weren't last year either.  MN has a pretty strong KTM contingent so perhaps they don't feel it necessary.
They had a show that featured a couple of trials bikers on their Sherco bikes.  It was hard to see but it was nice to catch a glimpse at some of the techniques they use to control their bikes so effectively.
I also picked up some new parts for my street helmet to cure a visor that keeps dropping down on me.   It was nice to come away from the show with something other than brochures.  They had some good deals in the form of discount coupons for future purchases.
